Jason holds a Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences Degree in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College and is certified through the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association and Jason also holds a Certificate of Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University.
Jason has worked in all levels of athletics from high school and varsity sport to the Provincial, National and International elite levels as well as with Masters level athletes and weekend warriors alike. Since 2006, Jason has held the position of Head Athletic Therapist for the Ontario Senior Women's Rugby Team which currently holds the National Championship Title.
Jason utilizes many manual techniques like Myofascial Stretching and Sport Massage, Soft Tissue Release, Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, Joint Mobilization and Low-Level Laser Therapy. In addition, Jason is continuing his studies to become a Registered Massage Therapist at the Ontario College of Health and Technology, completion 2011.
When not at work or studying, Jason enjoys travelling and experiencing the cultures of the world, seeks the thrill of extreme sports and is an avid Master Level scuba diver. As a former competitive swimmer, Jason has a very personal understanding of the requirements and demands of sport. His knowledge and training also gives him a strong understanding of repetitive strain injuries, often workplace related, along with acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries.
Jason believes that to be to be successful in sport and in life, an individual needs to better understand their body, including what occurs during the body's return to its non-injury state. Jason guides his clients through the rehabilitation process, providing them with tools and knowledge to return to sport or to an active lifestyle quickly and with a decreased incidence of injury reoccurrence.
